CHINA’S WAY TO PROGRESS
Q1.         Why has the world changed its attitude towards China?
Ans:       After twenty two years of its independence, when China became known to the world with a loud bang in 1971, the entire world came to know that this largest country of the world was going to matter to them in all walks of life because of agricultural development, increase in GNP, the role of women etc. So, they tried to compensate their past errors of giving no importance to it and changed their attitude towards China.
Q2.         Discuss Chinese agriculture system. 
Ans:       According to the writer, China has a well developed agriculture system. They have agricultural communes where the major profession of people is agriculture. They are producing food for entire China and they prefer to use local machinery. Agricultural mechanization is introduced with caution so as to avoid upsetting the balance between rural and urban population.  A peasant does not flee to cities to earn his living means.
Q3.         How does China rely on its own resources?
Ans:       Chinese people prefer to use local equipment to act upon Mao’s famous maxim: “Rely on your resources”. They consider it as their motto. Local equipment is at hand, cheap and can give great results. It can motivate the revolutionary spirit among the people that overcome all the barriers
Q4.         Describe a day in the life of a Chinese Student.
Ans:       A Chinese student who spends a very busy day wakes up at six o’clock in morning and goes to school at 8. Having a short break, she gets back home at 11 for lunch. At one thirty, she goes back to school until 3 O’clock. She does her homework at school. To get herself informed about the national and international situations, she listens to the radio. In her free time she plays ping-pong with her friends.
Q5.         What are social security benefits provided to the Chinese women/ female worker?
Ans:      Chinese women enjoy such social security benefits that are not provided to European women.  Chinese women are determined to keep pace with men. They retire at age of 55. They have 56 paid holidays for childbirth. There are kindergartens where dieticians look after their babies while women are at work. China has given women a sense of confidence, d dignity and awareness to play an important role.
